The biggest issue with today’s market place is not the economy; it’s the lack of cashflow, vision, leadership, processes, accountability, training and mindset. Whether you are just too busy wearing too many hats in your business or just don’t have the knowledge to handle all these aspects, the lack of one or all these attributes could be costing you your business or the growth of your business.
No longer do we live in a world of cookie cutters, we must dream and imagine what no one else has done or perhaps what someone else has done to move forward and take control of your business and life.
There is a reason you started your business and have come this far. Don’t let you dream die because you are not equipped to handle all the different aspects of running a business.
At Beacon Capital Solutions, we help you address each of these categories:
1) Finance – As you well know, Cash is King! How can you speed up cycle times with your receivables? What are the contributors to not getting your money as fast as you hoped for? What processes do you have in place if any? How is that working for you? Is it time for a change? Are you leveraging your cashflow properly? Does your A/R person need training? What is their biggest challenge?
2) Vision – Are you clear on what your vision is for your business? Does everyone in your organization understand the same thing you do for your business? Do you need to step back and rethink your vision?
3) Leadership – Leadership is the single greatest driver of personal and organizational performance. Are you getting the most of your team or do you need to improve morale, productivity and business results? Learn how to harness the creativity and know how within your organization.
4) Processes – Many people resist establishing process and procedure because of how time consuming it could be at first but once its established it makes handling the most complex situation so much easier. You need to have a process in place that if one employee leaves, the next one can come right in and take over where the last one left off. Streamlining is key!
5) Accountability- Finger pointing and blame games are a time waster. You don’t have time for this. Time is money. You want to make sure everyone in your organization is responsible for their actions or non action. No one is perfect, people make mistakes, but the idea is that learn from those mistakes and what drove them there. Not to be little them but to move forward in the right direction. Don’t accept mediocre workmanship if the same mistakes keep occurring.
6) Training – It is easier to talk to a client when you know what your company does and sells. Even though your office staff is not out selling, they are interacting with your customer via phone. Make sure they understand what you do, how you do it, what your product does so they can speak intelligently to your client. Your client will be most impressed and that’s what you want. You want your client to be loyal to you for this reason where they prefer to pay a little more for your product and service simply because he knows if he calls your company, who ever answers that phone knows about what he has purchased, what it does and if they can’t help him they can get someone that could on that phone in no time.
7) Mindset – This is where the rubber meets the road. You have to let go the old way of thinking.. There are so many opportunities to make your business so much better that you can just walk away from them because its not what you are accustomed to doing. Don’t discount what could be the biggest breakthrough for you business for tradition (for a lack of a better word) or what someone else’s experience has been. Remember when something doesn’t go right for people they only tell you what didn’t work not what they didn’t do that caused it not to work
